The COVID-19 pandemic struck Yangzhou unexpectedly, and to help stop the virus from spreading, Li Yuxiang stepped forward with unwavering determination, dedicating himself wholeheartedly. He is the bravest volunteer—and the most inspiring "reverse-mover" of all!
Li Yuxiang joined the company in 2017 and has primarily been responsible for product promotion in the Yangzhou market. At the early stage of the cluster outbreak, hospitals designated as treatment centers had to be completely cleared within 48 hours—entirely repurposed to centrally accommodate and isolate confirmed cases as well as asymptomatic carriers. This task placed immense pressure on hospital staff. Undeterred, Li Yuxiang spontaneously rallied a group of volunteers to assist with tasks like moving supplies, organizing materials, conducting disinfection procedures, and even escorting patients. Though sweat soaked through their clothes and exhaustion was evident in their eyes, he remained steadfastly committed—and utterly without regret.
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted residents under home isolation, making their daily lives incredibly inconvenient. Ensuring access to cooking supplies and managing package deliveries has become their top priority. Li Yuxiang stepped up as a "gofer," voluntarily helping hospital staff and community members by coordinating their shopping and delivery needs. Every evening, he logs residents' requests—ranging from groceries to package pickups—into the small community group chat. The next morning, he’s already on his way to supermarkets and courier hubs, juggling tasks like buying rice, delivering fresh vegetables, and collecting packages. Picking up groceries, dropping off meals, and gathering deliveries have seamlessly become part of his daily routine. "Hello! I’ve already bought the items you ordered and left them at your doorstep—please come out and grab them!" has become his most frequently repeated phrase each day. Despite his tired eyes, sweat-soaked shirt, and heavy, aching legs, logging over 30,000 steps on WeChat every day seems almost second nature to him now. As the situation evolved and residents were forced to stay indoors, Li realized the urgent need for nutritious food among elderly family members and children. Fully equipped with protective gear, he ventured into the countryside to purchase 50 free-range hens, carefully cleaned and prepared them, then delivered them one by one to the homes of healthcare workers. Though his days are filled with busy, time-consuming tasks, what he leaves behind for everyone is nothing short of warmth and genuine kindness. Ordinary yet extraordinary, Li Yuxiang embodies the spirit of selfless volunteerism—proof that even in the face of adversity, humanity’s compassion shines brightest.
Li Yuxiang is a tireless, dedicated volunteer—this kind of living, breathing ferryman who serves as the city’s toughest and most reliable support team. Deep in the community, he tirelessly conducts pandemic screenings, ensures residents have access to essential supplies, and assists medical facilities with transportation and service operations. Bearing pressures that ordinary people could never fathom, he works closely alongside healthcare professionals and joins forces with frontline personnel, forming an extraordinary defense line against the virus. In this unprecedented time, his unwavering commitment shines brightly, lighting the way forward for Yangzhou—and inspiring hope across the city!
