On the afternoon of September 6, Cuban time, Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, met with Bai Xianhong, Chairman and General Manager of Biotech Pharma; Bai Yi, General Manager of Oriental Baitai; and He Lihua, Executive Vice President of Biotech Pharma. Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, Deputy Prime Minister Cabreras, Deputy Prime Minister Perdomo, and Eduardo, General Manager of the Cuban Biomedical Group, also attended the meeting.

Chairman Díaz highly praised Biotech Pharma for its outstanding contributions to Sino-Cuban biopharmaceutical cooperation, noting that Biotech Pharma is the leading enterprise in Sino-Cuban biotechnology partnerships—and has also made significant strides in supporting Cuba’s economic and social development. He also recalled his meeting with General Secretary Xi Jinping during his visit to China last November, emphasizing that General Secretary Xi has an exceptional understanding of Cuba and has been a strong advocate for fostering closer Sino-Cuban biotechnology collaboration. Chairman Díaz expressed his hope that Biotech Pharma will accelerate its growth and achieve even greater success in future cooperative endeavors.
